Tiller Clinic Closed

Every once in a while, something good comes out of something bad. Such is the case this week.

The family of George Tiller announced yesterday that the Abortion mill that he was operating will be permanently closed. Pro-abortion leftists are up in arms over this. There has been a sigh of relief from the pro-life crowd.

"Dr. Tiller's clinic was probably going to close soon anyway because of actions by our Board of Healing Arts, not to mention several serious lawsuits," said Mary Kay Culp, director of the group Kansans for Life. "...It's just really tragic that it had to happen because he was murdered."

I can't say I'm in agreement with Mrs. Culp about the clinic closing anyway. Corruption in the state prosecutors' office and among government officials was certain to keep the clinic open, in spite of the fact that it was clear that Tiller was openly violating multiple state and federal laws. Neither the state of Kansas nor the federal government had the stomach to enforce the laws that it has put on the books. 

(To be fair, the executive and judicial branches of the state government in Kansas has typically been to the left of the legislative branch which passed the laws Tiller violated.)

Still, the clinic is closed. Permanently.

Good.

I've been by the building numerous times. It would make a nice memorial to the unborn children who have lost their lives at the hands of this and other abortionists. 

Obama Goes To Cairo

I'm sure the Obama Mid East trip will generate may articles over the next few days. I won't try to cover all of what Obama said earlier today. I will make a couple of comments...

The first thing to catch my attention was when Obama said "...I consider it part of my responsibility as President of the United States to fight against the negative stereotypes of Islam wherever they appear."

Really? Since when, exactly? What other religions does Obama feel responsible to defend?

Let's take a look at one of the larger groups within our own country. A little religion you may have heard of somewhere along the way ... Christianity.

Has Obama been defending mainstream Christian groups who have been lumped in with the guy who shot George Tiller? Maybe I missed that.

I will give Obama credit, though. While many muslims, particularly in Egypt (from what I understand, anyway) have denied that al Qaeda was responsible for 9/11, Obama said this:

"I'm aware that there's still some who would question or even justify the offense of 9/11. But let us be clear. Al Qaeda killed nearly 3000 people on that day. The victims were innocent men, women, and children from America and many other nations who had done nothing to harm anybody. And yet al Qaeda chose to ruthlessly murder these people... and even now states their determination to kill on a massive scale.... These are not opinions to be debated. These are facts to be dealt with."

At least on this point, he gets it right. I wonder if his audience heard him.

Is All Life Sacred

I had a conversation with a co-worker today about the murder of George Tiller. During the course of that conversation, she made the statement "I am pro-life. I believe all life is sacred, including the life of Tiller."

At the time, I nodded my head and went on. But the conversation got the wheels turning in my head. I asked myself "Is all life really sacred." 

And shortly, I decided that no, indeed, all life is not sacred.

The phrase "All life is sacred," I believe came from the liberal left, who are both atheists and pantheists. While they believe there is no God, they also believe that trees and plants and whales and baby dolphins are all sacred. (But not tuna, for some reason.)

While the word sacred has many definitions, properly, to be sacred means that something or someone is set aside for a religious purpose or duty.

Is all life set aside for a religious purpose? Maybe in the eyes of a few left-wing loons, but no. It is not. It should be. We were all created to worship our creator. But, sadly, many people set aside their lives for self-seeking, others for daily hum-drum, and a few, like George Tiller, devote their lives to evil. 

That's not to say that his murder was justified. I've said before, and I'll say it again; it was not. Murder is wrong. 

But that's a different thing from saying his life was sacred. 

The left will have everyone believing that it was. They will deify him as long as the media will go along with it, then they will be on to something else.

But let us not fall for that. Tiller was a very, very evil person. Evil people exist. His life was not sacred. 

Tiller Killer

Two months ago I posted this article on baby killer George Tiller and how political corruption allowed him to continue his evil trade.

Earlier today, Tiller was shot to death in the foyer of his Church in Wichita, Kansas.

There is no question that his murder was wrong. You'll see no attempt to justify it here on this blog. While I believe Tiller was a murder and will pay for his sins in hell for all eternity, we have a judicial system for taking care of murderers. Sometimes it works. Sometimes, as in the case of Tiller, it does not. When it doesn't, there is no justification for taking the law into your own hands.

I understand the frustration.

Two months ago, the State held a mock trial to make a show of finding TIller innocent of breaking the law, even though Tiller never tried to hide his violations of late term abortion laws.

Just a couple of weeks ago, Obama made a show at Notre Dame of trying to find middle ground on the abortion issue, even though his actions are aimed at increasing the number of abortions.

While motives and justifications of the suspect have not been released, more than likely the killer was a misguided individual who felt frustrated at what Tiller has done, as well as what he represented.

Walking into a church and killing Adolph Hitler might have saved millions of lives, but it would still have been wrong.

Walking into a church and killing Joseph Stalin might have saved millions of lives, but it still would have been wrong. 

Similarly, killing Tiller was wrong, no matter how many lives it may save.

I would hope that those on the left who are condemning this as an act of terrorism, would look at William Ayers, the Black Panthers, the Daily Kos (which advocated the murder of George W. Bush), and Wanda Sykes in the same light that they are looking at the Tiller Killer.
