More Tebow Ad Controversy

Super Bowl Ad Stirs Controversy
A Super Bowl ad from Focus on the Family featuring former Florida Gators football star Tim Tebow has created a scuffle between abortion rights groups.
The Heisman Trophy winning quarterback — one of the most celebrated college football players of all time — has cut an ad with his mother Pam, who tells of her decision not to end her 1987 pregnancy in spite of advice from doctors to do so. Pam Tebow and her husband were working as missionaries in the Philippines at the time when doctors there advised her to have an abortion due to health concerns. She did not, and Tim Tebow was born.
The ad will debut during the Super Bowl, prompting protests from numerous women’s groups and organizations supporting abortion that say the ad violates CBS’s longstanding tradition of not airing controversial ads during sports events.
“The abortion debate has no place in the Super Bowl. I organize abortion rights rallies all the time and I recognize how inappropriate it would be for me to sit in the stands with signs at the Super Bowl,” said Erin Matson, vice president of the National Organization for Women, which has called on CBS to reject the ad.
Jehmu Greene, president of the Women’s Media Center, sent a letter to CBS on Monday urging the network to not air the ad that she says “uses sports to divide rather than to unite has no place in the biggest national sporting event of the year.” Of course, she has not seen the ad, nor has she seen a script to the ad. No doubt, she would have harsh words if her group were running an ad that was being criticized by someone who had never seen the ad.
CBS has approved the script of the Super Bowl ad and defended its decision in a statement.
“Our standards and practices process continues to adhere to a policy that ensures all ads on all sides of an issue are appropriate for air,” the statement read. You can bet the ad is not in any way controversial. The left-leaning CBS is not likely to approve anything that remotely resembles a promotion of religious faith or something that would vaguely suggest that abortion be made illegal.
Marjorie Dannenfelser, president of the Susan B. Anthony List, defended CBS’s decision during an interview with POLITICO.
The head of the group opposing abortion rights said that “Women can be trusted with information and they certainly don’t need to be protected from the idea that if they have a crisis pregnancy that they can choose life.”
“What are they protecting people from?” she asked. “It is just so counter to the whole mission which is to provide women choices. This is just the one choice they can’t abide.”
Of course, what they are really protecting is the Abortion mill industry. The so-called Women's Rights groups (a misnomer if there ever was one) are only interested in one choice. The choice that funnels billions of dollars into abortion mills, murdering millions of innocent children in the process.

New York Times Publishes Photos of Aborted Babies
Color me impressed that the left-leaning New York Times showed pictures of retrieved aborted babies along with the story of the photographer who took the pictures.
“A theology professor at Madonna University and the director of Citizens for a Pro-Life Society, she said she had firsthand experience retrieving fetuses after abortions and photographing them. When we met two days later in her university office, she handed me proof: a series of 4-by-6-inch prints that she shot, which have been turned into portraits by Stephen McGee.
“The first image in the pile gave me a clue to the source. It showed a cardboard box with six or seven large, sealed plastic bags with something red inside. There were names on the bags in black ink and, on the box, there was a date written with felt-tip marker: Feb. 27, 1988.
“The process was a challenge: the fetuses, hard to handle; the scent of the formaldehyde solution, enough to burn the nose. Shooting could only be done up close. She recalled renting expensive macro lenses to get within millimeters of the fetuses.
“She pointed to one of her snapshots showing a tiny hand with visible wrinkles. ‘In order to get that detail,’ she said, ‘you need to get a camera right on top of that.’”
When people say that pro-life people ought to shut about child killing and adopt “unwanted” babies or give these women more money to take care of their kids, it’s absolutely maddening. Permissiveness, not personal responsibility, selflessness, and sacrifice, is always the focus.

Pro-Life Group Wants Justice Department to Investigate Death Threats, Gets Refusal
Wichita, KS (LifeNews.com) -- A pro-life group is asking the Justice Department to review several death threats it has received in the wake of the shooting of late-term abortion practitioner George Tiller. However, Operation Rescue officials say the Obama administration has not responded.
The pro-life group has released the copies of audio recordings of calls it has received from abortion advocates who threatened the pro-life organization after Tiller's death.
One caller says it's "time to start killing Bible-thumping morons" while another says "I hope somebody comes and kills you all" and a third caller says "One of you is going to die."
"Would you want some protection after receiving these kinds of threats?" asked Operation Rescue president Troy Newman. "Too bad. The current government isn't interested in protecting your life... unless you happen to be pro-abortion."
In an email to LifeNews.com, Newman says there is a dichotomy in how the Obama administration has responded -- with Attorney General Eric Holder offering protection to abortion centers and staffers but pledging no support for pro-life groups that feared retaliation.
"Apparently, the Obama administration's Justice Department is playing favorites when it comes to protecting the lives of Americans," Newman says. "If you promote or provide abortions, Attorney General Eric Holder will dispatch U.S. Marshals to protect you when threatened. But if you're not one of those privileged minority... you're out of luck. Even if you receive scores of death threats."
"We expected that Barack Obama would not be a friend to life; but we didn't expect the favoritism to be so blatant and so callous," he added.
Other pro-life advocate shave also received death threats in the aftermath of the Tiller shooting.
Staff at the Wichita office of Kansans for Life received calls from abortion advocates that were threatening.
"This person was out of control, emotionally, you could just tell," Mary Wilkinson said of one call.
"I hope you're happy," the person said. "You've killed him. Now I hope somebody comes and kills you all."
At the office of the Kansas Coalition for Life, one person left a text message a few hours after the shooting: "One of you is going to die for what you did to Tiller."
Instead of responding to the threats, Newman says he worries the Obama administration and abortion advocates will use the Tiller killing for political gain.
"To be honest, I'm very concerned for the safety of my family and friends who are making a stand for life every day. But I'm also very concerned that the Obama administration and other Democrats may try to capitalize on the murder of Tiller to defuse the abortion issue in upcoming Supreme Court confirmation hearings," he says.
"Like so many other pro-life leaders, I have condemned the killing of Tiller. But I'm also concerned that pro-abortion activists are going to use this incident to brand the entire pro-life movement as 'extremist,'" he said.

Obama: Fatherhood Starts at Conception
"That is why we need fathers to step up, to realize that their job does not end at conception; that what makes you a man is not the ability to have a child but the courage to raise one.

Liberals and the Culture of Violence
Liberalism hacks off the branch on which society sits, then blames conservatism for its fall. On smug shows like Hardball, liberals gasp self-righteously about the assassination of abortionist George Tiller and the shooting at the Holocaust Museum.
How -- they ask while glancing furiously at the "right" -- did killing become thinkable in America?
Mother Teresa answered their question over a decade ago at a D.C. prayer breakfast that they snored through: "Any country that accepts abortion is not teaching its people to love but to use any violence to get what it wants.…If we accept that the mother can kill her own child, how can we tell other people not to kill one another?"
The fashionable left presides over a culture of death, using man-made legal parchments to mop up its encircling pools of blood. But the blood never comes out; the stain remains and grows more obvious with time.
What threatens America's future the most is not the transparently rancid extremism of the insane, but the "mainstream" extremism of the rich and powerful. To a Chris Matthews, left-wing extremism is somehow rendered "respectable" by law and recent custom. But reality is impervious to such phony distinctions.
As Abraham Lincoln said of legal slavery and the inexorable patterns of history that ripple from injustice, "every drop of blood drawn with the [slaveholder's] lash shall be paid by another drawn with the sword." Do we really think that every drop of blood drawn with the abortionist's scalpel is exempt from the invisible laws of justice? The longer we permit this scourge to continue the more horrible America's fate will be.
That hidden James Von Brunns exist in the hinterlands of America is scary. But what's more chilling is the commonplace legal evil done "in clean, carpeted, warmed and well-lighted offices, by quiet men with white collars and cut fingernails and smooth-shaven cheeks who do not need to raise their voices," as C.S. Lewis once put it. Extremists exist not just on the margins of society but in the center of it: the Park Avenue feminist on her third abortion, the charming and "brave" abortionist feted at cocktail parties, the celebrity who pens an anguished memoir about drugging to death an enfeebled and annoying parent.
Around the time James Von Brunn was preparing to shoot up the Holocaust Museum, Barack Obama's extremist mentor was shooting off his mouth about "them Jews." The liberal elite are shocked by the former, yet tolerant of the latter. Jeremiah Wright still sits at their posh dinner parties in Chicago, as do for that matter Muslim activists, whose statements about Israel and the Jews differ from Von Brunn's, if at all, in degree not kind.
Killing the weak and undesirable is the "final solution," said Hitler, but as Chris Matthews and company walk through the Holocaust Museum in shock at such notions they neglect the extent to which their own moral philosophy mirrors his. The culture of death which they excuse and extend is essentially Hitlerite: the "final solution" to an inconvenient pregnancy is abortion; the "final solution" to soaring health care costs is euthanasia; the "final solution" to disease is experimenting on embryos; the "final solution" to disability is prenatal screening, etc., etc.
"Every child a wanted child" is a slogan Hitler himself could have devised. Instead, pro-abortion liberals did, and they have been killing "unwanted" children ever since. They are in no position to lecture "the right" on America's violence.
