The Lowdown on Roxana Mayer, Town Hall Doctor

"I'm not a doctor, but I play one at Town Hall Meetings."

Roxana Mayer attended the Houston Town Hall Meeting with Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX) (the same one in which she ignored a cancer patient by talking on her phone), and told Rep. Jackson Lee that she was a Doctor. She specifically identified herself and a primary care physician who had been in practice for four years, but practiced outside of Rep. Jackson Lee's district.

The Houston Chronicle attempted to verify her claim merely reported that the "Texas Medical Board, which oversees doctors in Texas, had no record of Mayer, 31, holding a physician's license."

Well, there's a good reason for that. She's not a licensed physician. She's never been to medical school. She probably can't even spell "appendix."

Mayer is an Obama supporter. She was invited to the Town Hall meeting by another radical Obama supporter who ran an Obama campaign office.

So, why would she lie about being a doctor? After admitting the lie, she said that she made the claim to be a physician because she thought it added to her credibility.

I don't know about you, but it seems to me to be a bit "over the top" to lie about being a doctor in order to enhance your credibility at a meeting on health care.

Mayer claims she acted on her own, but has refused to talk further about the matter. In an e-mail to the Houston Chronicle, she said that she'd been advised not to talk further about the matter, but she did not say who counseled her to "shut up."

Earlier this week, an 11 year old child had been planted in the Obama town hall by an Obama supporter and Democratic National delegate. Now, this "doctor"-plant. Do you suppose the Obama camp will stop at anything to turn the "Town Hall debacle" around?
